The Department of Physics at Royal Military College seeks an exceptional candidate to participate in collaborative graduate studies in space mission design at the Master’s level. This is a sponsored position with guaranteed support of $25K per year for 2 years.

The successful candidate will be accepted into the Physics graduate programme at RMC, and will follow a course of study in Space Science leading to the degree of M.Sc. (Physics).

It is expected that the student will spend two academic terms at RMC pursuing coursework before moving to UTIAS/SFL to carry out thesis work related to the development of the CanX series of nanosatellites. Applicants are expected to have completed a bachelor’s degree with First-class standing in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. The starting date for this position is 1 September 2007.

Inquiries should be directed to the Coordinator of Graduate Studies at physics@rmc.ca. For more information, interested candidates are invited to visit the RMC and SFL sites: www.rmc.ca/academic/physics and www.utias-sfl.net.
